Meeting called to order at 1:30p.m., by Denyvetta Davis, Director of Library Operations

Manager of Library Operations - June 2014

Anne distributed “Permissions for New ILS” sheet and a “Terminology Explanations” list for various roles.  She is working on a permissions book for the various role assignments.  The managers were asked to complete the “Permissions for New ILS” sheet by marking which box staff members should have access to and return the sheet to Anne as soon as possible.  If any other roles are needed the managers are encouraged to contact Anne and she will be happy to add another column.

Anne provided some some information on key differences between our new ILS and the existing system.

Ad-Team Meeting Minutes - March 5, 2014

Administration / Commission - The By-laws Committee meeting scheduled for Monday, March 3rd was cancelled due to inclement weather. The Administration Office is working on scheduling a new date for the meeting.

Donna emailed the carpet installation schedule with details on how this would affect staff working Downtown. Curtiss Ray – Maintenance Facilities Manager, will deliver portable shelves, boxes, and other materials needed prior to the carpet installation. Kim Terry stated a press release will be sent out today to notify the public on closing.

Manager of Library Operations Meeting Minutes - January 2014

Playaway Views - When asked for updates regarding the Playaway Views, the managers reported no major concerns.

OLA - OLA Annual Conference will be March 31 through April 2. Denyvetta asked for those attending OLA to submit their registrations to her by March 1.

Other - Budget requests are to be entered by March 10th so Denyvetta and Kay can review, provide feedback and, if necessary, modifications may be made before the April 15th deadline.

Ad-Team Meeting Minutes - February 5, 2014

Library Operations (Headquarters) – Candace is continuing to work on the Safety Manual revisions. She started working on the Annual MLS Staff Recognition event which will be held at the Cowboy Hall of Fame again this year. The date is set for Saturday, November 8th.

The new Downtown Library café will open around March 1st. The café name will change to ‘Hemingway Cafe’ and the operation hours will be 6:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Ad-Team Meeting Minutes - February 19, 2014

Library Operations (Headquarters) – Candace announced she is working on the chemical inventory for MSDS. The complete inventory will be available on MyMetroLibrary.

The MLS Safety Manual is almost complete.

Mark your calendars for the annual MLS Staff Recognition taking place Saturday, November 8th at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Candace announced the Hemingway Café (Downtown Library) will open next week. The operation hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Manager of Library Operations Meeting Minutes - December 2013

Denyvetta shared with the managers that Aaron is attending the Forum meetings to observe the various formats. Aaron indicated that he has been participating and has spoken with several librarians who had great feedback regarding the “Librarian in Charge” topic.

Denyvetta informed the managers that this is Julie’s final meeting as a member of the CONNECT Forum Planning Committee. Julie expressed that it has been a great experience.
Denyvetta has received positive feedback on all three Forums, the CONNECT Forum, Circulation Forum and the PCS Forum.

PIE Committee December 2013 Update

For the past few months the PIE group has been developing a tool to be used in the programming process. There are many considerations and steps in the programming process and we have worked to identify them and put them into a flowchart. After creating our first draft, we sought feedback from a few people who currently oversee programming at the libraries of the various PIE members; Heidi (DVS) regarding the process for requesting a volunteer if needed; and Outreach.

Meeting called to order at 1:30p.m., by Denyvetta Davis, Director of Library Operations

Denyvetta introduced and welcomed Metropolitan Library System’s newest Managers of Library Operations, Emily Canniff-VI and Todd Podzemny-CT. The managers introduced themselves.

Todd shared with the managers that he began his employment with MLS at Northwest Library for a few months then went on to become the assistant manager at Edmond Library. He informed that it has been a very exciting two weeks as MLO at Choctaw.

PIE Meeting Minutes - July 25, 2013

The new 330 RFP has been in use for 24 days. When Jon began looking at the data and the way it export he feels ‘joy’ because it works beautifully. Jon showed us how he created a macro in Excel that translates the codes in the mlsBudget expenditure report so that we can more easily interpret the data. He also created a macro that generates several charts, which he explained. This information will help managers make better data driven decisions. Jon pointed out that this Excel file does not show us indirect costs and does not have any data validation.
