  • Personal print jobs for staff will cost $0.10/page for black & white, $0.50/page for color

Salaried staff discussion- Erin

  • Salaried staff schedules don’t have to be adjusted if staff work beyond the end of their scheduled shift (e.g., If they stay 15 minutes late one day, their schedule does not need to be flexed to make up for this time)

Welcome: Tricia called the meeting to order.

Summer Reading Check In (Emily Williams and Kristin Williamson, OES) 15,000 people signed up, on the way to 20-22k, already have 28% of the points required for Read It Forward, Kristin and Emily have been going around to all the libraries to help. 268 teen volunteers this year. This year’s Read it Forward organization is the Latino Development Agency. Read the Engagement Cabinet minutes to learn more. Kristin extended thanks to everyone for their hard work

Access Services Minutes - October 17, 2023

Welcome: Tricia called the meeting to order.

Learn: CARL.Connect Training (Tricia Andrews): Tricia provided an overview of the CARL.Connect Test environment and recommended practicing functionality in CARL.Connect Test. The last data refresh was October 25, 2022, so newer employees will not have a login. However, Tricia can provide generic logins for them upon request. Highlights from the training included the use of item grid, holds expired, and account management.

Welcome: Tricia called the meeting to order. The group went around sharing their name, branch, title, and the best Guest Experience they have seen/given/received since the June AM Meeting.

Two New CARL Courses in MetroU

I am excited to share we have two new courses on CARL in MetroU:  

  • CARL.Connect User Searching 
  • CARL.Connect Create New User 

These courses are perfect for staff who use CARL.Connect at Outreach events or for staff wanting to expand their comfort level in CARL.Connect.

Access Services Minutes - February 21, 2023

Welcome: Tricia welcomed Kenda as the new AMI at BI. All staff shared a time they were able to say “Yes” to a staff member or guest in the last few weeks. Some of the examples given included -- helping guests on computers, changing staff schedules, waiving fines for guests, offering many ways to get a library account, and accommodating guests in our Meeting Room spaces for one-off situations.

Hold Slips Update

Thank you to the libraries and staff at the Service Center who participated in the February testing of hold slips. Data from the baseline study in November/December 2022 were compared to the hold slip data submitted for the week of February 13. Here are the takeaways based on the data submitted:
