Pop-up Libraries (combination of Metro Pop-Up Spots & Mobile Pop-Up Library)

InterReach

  • Metro Pop-Up Spots: We will bring temporary pop-up libraries to locations throughout the community in order to reach underserved populations and attract new members.
  • Mobile Pop-Up Library: This project would provide all libraries access to a vehicle, designed to hold a small collection of materials and a wifi “hotspot”; available for community events and have Carl Connect capabilities to issue cards and check out materials.

 

Wi-Fi Hotspots for Lending to Members

This service would provide Internet access to members that might not otherwise have it at their home.

 

Digital Collection Kiosks (combined with Digital Library Kiosks)

Collection Anywhere

  • Digital Collection Kiosks: Install kiosks inside libraries or at high traffic areas outside of the library which offer a full range of digital library materials, OBR, and library information.
  • Digital Library Kiosks: Adding Digital library kiosks to places like the airport and High Schools to promote awareness and use of our eBook collections.

 

Metrolibrary Mobile (combined with Metropolitan Library System Smart App)

TeXperiences

  • Metrolibrary Mobile: Create a mobile app capable of searching our collections, downloading digital content, using GPS navigation to find the nearest library, access the Events Calendar, and send notifications about services /programs or account information.
  • Metropolitan Library System Smart App: Creation of a dedicated, multi-functional mobile app for downloading eBooks, magazines, journals, and newspapers which would have a tremendous impact on customers as it would make digital media truly accessible from any device in one user-friendly app.

 

Cultural passes available for check out

Make available general admission passes to local cultural institutions that can be checked out using a library card in good standing.

Mobile Computer Lab (combined with Laptop Kiosk)

  • Mobile Computer Lab: Creation of a mobile computer lab for technology literacy, professional development, and entertainment programs to increase user's digital literacy and real-world, marketable tech skills.
  • Laptop Kiosk: The addition of a laptop kiosk would allow for more PCs with minimum impact on used facility space.

 

Book Vending Machine (combined with Public Information Kiosks)

  • Book Vending Machine: Book Vending Machines at popular pedestrian destinations throughout the area to increase market penetration
  • Public Information Kiosks: Placing Mobile library kiosks in public venues to support Library Unbound project.

  • Metro Grows Community Seed Exchange: Our Metro Grows Community Seed Exchange will connect members with the resources and experiences they need to grow their own food, connect with their local community, and gain new knowledge.
  • Reel 'em in: Provide fishing gear for checkout at select locations.
