Media Guidelines
As a public institution, Metropolitan Library System (“the Library”) programs, services and plans are of special interest to the public. Media coverage is an important way to get the word out about programs, activities and issues related to the Library. In doing this, it is important that we provide accurate and consistent information to avoid any misunderstanding, misinterpretation or confusion. Our goal is to promote a consistent, coherent and positive image of the Library across our local communities and the world . As an employee, reporters can interpret your remarks as the Library’s official position on an issue or topic. This can be the case whether you are on or off duty. The following guidelines have been developed to ensure that the public receives accurate information and to ensure that all press inquiries are handled consistently.
