Good News: Close(r) parking for MLS staff visiting the Downtown Library!

On Saturday November 1st, the Arts District Garage opened to the delight of staff working DN.  Previously, DN Library and office employees were parking in five different garages throughout downtown.  For staff who parked at the Sheridan-Walker or Dowell Garages, their walk to the library was nearly a quarter of a mile.  The new garage is just a mere hop, skip and jump away from DN at 240 feet.

In a month, concrete steps will be placed on the west side of the Downtown Library building. A key pad will also be attached to the west side fire emergency door, therefore, when the new downtown parking garage is complete / open, only library employees will be able to walk across the street to enter through that door. Ad-Team Meeting Minutes for September 19, 2012

Kay discussed the process of ordering certain supplies using MyMetrolibrary. This system has a built in cart feature for employees to place supply orders for marketing promotional supplies, technical processing supplies and volunteer recognition item. You can now place orders using one cart, meaning you can check out with all your needed supplies at once. After checking out, you will receive a confirmation email. The department where the supplies are requested will receive a confirmation as well. This feature is similar to Amazon’s Marketplace checkout feature, so if you’ve ordered items from Amazon it works the same.
