Purpose of Meeting
Share information about things like upcoming changes, new products or services and techniques with the outcome having a common purpose and to align the team via updates on progress, challenges, and next steps. Activities that may be included in these meetings are problem solving, decision making, prioritization, and task assignment.

Learning & Development Update
Discussed staff day theme for 2019. Milissa presented ideas for a staff day theme. Leadership team consensus was “building together for tomorrow”. We want to emphasize the importance of working together as a team and this is relevant in all departments whether public services or support departments.

Opportunity for Exhibition:
Julie Ballou shared that MLS may have an opportunity to apply for a traveling exhibit through ALA. This exhibit would have a lower cost to show and utilize than the Sendak exhibit and will be a strong fit for MLS.
Room Use:
Chris Kennedy distributed an early draft of new room use guidelines for library customers who rent and reserve library spaces.
Core Values Conversation:
A draft of revised core values was distributed for discussion.

Friends grant process and gift policy
Heather Zeoli presented ideas for streamlining the Friends grant process.
Heather also reminded everyone that the library system itself cannot accept monetary donations directly; and clarified that gifts of materials and physical items belong to the Friends, not to individual libraries nor the system, and may not be added to collections.
