AD-Team welcomed LaVetta Dent to her first AD-Team Meeting as Director of Outreach.

“Mind Connect” Warr Acres Public Art

A new statue by Broken Arrow, OK, artist Randy Vaughn will soon be installed outside the Warr Acres library. The statue, entitled “Mind Connect,” will be unveiled at the library’s Customer Appreciation Reception on Saturday, October 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. The artwork is a 56” tall steel structure depicting interconnected books in vibrant colors.

Construction Management – Out of the Office

Administration / Commission – Donna discussed her recent visit to Washington, D.C. to advocate for libraries and her visit with four local Representatives at the event.

Donna informed the Ad Team that she will attend the ground breaking ceremony for John W. Rex Elementary Charter School on Friday, May 24th and ask them to join her if interested.

Ad-Team Meeting Minutes - March 6, 2013

Kim announced the MLS Marketing Department received a total of six Addy Awards at the Addy Awards Banquet on February 23rd at the Coca Cola Events Center. The Addys are presented by the Oklahoma City Advertising Club and is the most prestigious recognition for excellence in local marketing.

Karen recently visited the Choctaw Library staff to work on their collection in preparation for a new manager.

Materials Services Division Minutes for January 2013

Average turnaround time for new titles in Cataloging in December was 1 working day; average for the first half of FY13 is 1.29 working days. This includes only time that materials were in Cataloging; it does not include time in Technical Processing.

In December, the average turnaround time for borrowing materials in ILL was 12 calendar days. This includes only time from the date requests are sent out from ILL to the date that they are received in ILL; it does not include routing time between MLS libraries and ILL.

The average daily run for December was 755 items per day, for a total of 14,354 items in December. The average for January so far is 902 items per day. The processors are still current on processing all “rush” materials; they are processing non-rush materials from January 10, which is from the run 6 working days ago. Study guides and dated materials like continuations are also current.

Northwest Library Public Art Installation

Four original works of art by California sculptor Solomon Bassoff, of Faducci Studio, were installed yesterday at Northwest Library.  One of the figures is of “America’s first cowgirl,” Lucille Mulhall.  Mulhall was a well-known rodeo performer who was raised near Mulhall, OK at the turn of the 20th century.  She is seen toting books by four Oklahoma authors—Joy Harjo, S.E. Hinton, Louis L’Amour, and Michael Wallis.

Commission Packet - February 2012

Ad-Team Meeting Minutes for January 25, 2012

The Policies and Procedures committee will be meeting this afternoon.
The Annual Statistical Report was presented to the Commission last week.

Information Technology, Kellie Delaney and Sharon Bish have been working to get the tax forms on the website.
Kay will be scheduling an X-Change meeting in February. One of the topics will be to discuss the next Strategic Plan.
