Library Giving Day - Wednesday, April 7, 2021

As many of you may know, April 4 to10 is National Library Week. On Wednesday, April 7th, we will be participating in the 3rd annual Library Giving Day! The Library Endowment Trust has embraced this international movement that originated in the International Public Library Fundraising forum. They are seeking to raise $20,000 from the community this year and are asking donors and prospects to support their favorite Metropolitan Library System location.

Attention Target Shoppers! Library Endowment Trust - featured nonprofit

Are you a Target shopper? Join Target Circle Rewards and you can vote between now and the end of March to help direct where Target gives in our community. This quarter, the Library Endowment Trust is honored to have been chosen as a selected Oklahoma nonprofit for Target Circle. When Target Circle members vote for the Library Endowment Trust, the Trust will receive a gift that will help us grow our endomwent and support our Metropolitan Library System for years to come.

Sort Site closed to customers Feb. 14 to Mar. 19

Our Sort Site volunteers wanted to remind all staff that we typically pause accepting books from customers at the Sort Site around the time of Booksale. Books can still be accepted and collected in small volumes at our library locations (thank you!). However, if a customer has a larger volume to donate, please note that the Sort Site will be closed during Booksale and in the following weeks for cleaning, training, and recovery.

New Donated Books Receipting Process

The Friends of the Library (FOL) will be changing how donors of books and materials receive their tax receipts.

Currently, at the time of donation, donors receive an Online Gift Receipt Information slip instructing them to go to supportmls.org and fill out an online form to receive an emailed tax receipt letter. This online form will be going away as of January 1st, 2019.
