SF 700.2 Gift Procedures

  1. Libraries may accept donations of new or used books/materials from donors with the intent to be sold. These donations will be sold by the Friends of the Metropolitan Library System (Friends) for benefit of the Metropolitan Library System (Library).

    Kim announced the MLS Marketing Department received a total of six Addy Awards at the Addy Awards Banquet on February 23rd at the Coca Cola Events Center. The Addys are presented by the Oklahoma City Advertising Club and is the most prestigious recognition for excellence in local marketing.

    Karen recently visited the Choctaw Library staff to work on their collection in preparation for a new manager.

    Library Endowment Trust Receives Historical Donation

    LaVerne Taylor was an only child that grew up loving the library and getting lost in a book whenever she could. She was embraced by the staff at the Belle Isle Library who anticipated her reading preferences and set books aside each Wednesday for her weekly visit.

    A long time supporter and donor, Mrs. Taylor first began thinking about a gift she could leave to support the Belle Isle Library directly—she later realized her gift could continue to benefit and support the library for generations to come by donating to the Library Endowment Trust.

    Ad-Team Meeting Minutes for August 2001

    Since Dowell parking has indicated they will increase our parking fees from $50.00 to $70.00 per month per person, Anne Hsieh has investigated other options. She reported that parking at the city garage at Broadway and Kerr is available for $54.00 per month, per person. Should space there be a problem, the Santa Fe garage just south of Broadway and Kerr is a possibility. Recently, staff at Dowell parking has told Anne that they would like to keep our business and might be willing to continue to charge the current rate of $50.00. Anne is attempting to confirm this. Ad Team authorized Anne to continue with Dowell at the current $50 rate if possible. If not, she can proceed with switch to the Broadway-Kerr lot.
