Access Services Updates - July 29, 2019

Over the past several months, Risa Sargent has been working with Collection Services and Development (Pauline Rodriguez-Atkins and Janeal Walker), Access Services (Tricia Andrews), and IT (Anne Fischer) to identify the parameters to maintain our database of materials in CARL.X. After consulting with them and our data analyst (Jennifer Livingstone), we have identified when materials will be deleted from our database. The full plan is attached below, but the essentials are as follows:

Access Services Updates - February 12, 2019

System Library Account Naming

On December 3, there was an Intranet post to make staff aware we would standardize naming system library accounts. Only accounts with asterisks* are required.  The last name will state which library the item is going to, for example, @DN will go to Downtown and @SO will go to Southern Oaks.

As of February 11, all libraries have created their system accounts to follow these conventions.

First name = spelled out library name
Middle name = Library
Last name = @XX_

Access Services Minutes - January 22, 2019

Outcomes: To discuss topics/tasks related to Access staff to ensure that staff and members have a consistent experience across the system.

Discussion:

  • Attendees welcomed Tricia Andrews as the incoming Manager of Access and Mark Schuster as the newest Regional Director.
  • We discussed how to deliver an appraisal including talking points for various scenarios.
