Learn: CARL.Connect Training (Tricia Andrews): Tricia provided an overview of the CARL.Connect Test environment and recommended practicing functionality in CARL.Connect Test. The last data refresh was October 25, 2022, so newer employees will not have a login. However, Tricia can provide generic logins for them upon request. Highlights from the training included the use of item grid, holds expired, and account management.

Learn: Collection Services and Development (Mira Green, Janeal Walker, Kirsten Bryson, Devin Mcghee, Galen Boydstun, CSD): The managers of CSD provided an overview of the collection development process based on questions submitted by the Access Manager group.

Summer Reading (Emily Williams, OES): Emily provided an overview of the information in the Summer Reading training. She reminded managers that they are the subject matter experts for Summer Reading, and they should be checking in with staff and volunteers to ensure they are comfortable with Beanstack and assisting guests.

Welcome: Tricia welcomed Kenda as the new AMI at BI. All staff shared a time they were able to say “Yes” to a staff member or guest in the last few weeks. Some of the examples given included -- helping guests on computers, changing staff schedules, waiving fines for guests, offering many ways to get a library account, and accommodating guests in our Meeting Room spaces for one-off situations.
