Statistical Updates

  • During December, all newly cataloged titles were routed from Cataloging to Technical Processing within one working day of receipt in Cataloging.  Mass market paperbacks were routed from Cataloging to Technical Processing within an average of 1.5 working days of receipt in Cataloging.  Records for e-media materials were uploaded to the catalog within 5 working days of receipt via e-mail.  
  • Based on the best data available, around 1,800 titles new to the collection were cataloged in December, including about 400 e-media titles.  Approximately 600 records for mass market paperbacks were added during that time.

Materials Services Division Updates for February 2014

From July 1, 2013 to February 21, 2014, MSL received a total of 9,581 customer suggestions, for an average of 282 per week.

Since the beginning of FY14, 20,648 titles and 139,412 items were selected and ordered. This averages to 625 titles and 4,224 items per week.

Since the beginning of July, a total of 563 boxes of withdrawals and gifts were received in MSL. 298 boxes were sent to the booksale, 122 boxes of transfers and 16 boxes of gifts were sent to CAT.

ILS Task Force Meeting Minutes for July 31, 2012

One goal of the demos is to gain information about the particular ILS to formulate a RFP (Request for Proposal). Currently, we have three (3) demos scheduled:

August 14 8:30-noon (DN) – Polaris
August 15 8:30-noon (DN) – SIRSI
August 16, 8:30-noon (DN) - iii

At this time, only the ILS Task Force members will be present for the demos. Later, we will invite others to participate in further demonstrations of the products (as discussed at the July 2012 Tech Support meeting)

Young Adult Services Meeting Minutes for April 2012

Teresa brought her pin from when she was a teen volunteer in 1978. She decided to become a librarian when she volunteered as a teen.

Everybody was given a save the date card for the festival of books, this festival is held every 2 years. Each year they have different Children’s and YA authors. Everybody should try to attend.

Free comic book day May 5th. ODL has started to receive the books, and we will try to get them in our office this week and ready to route. Witchblade will be included in the comics, it is not an all ages comic. Set these aside and hand out to adults rather than to children.

You have posters for Summer programs. Everybody was given posters for each program whether it is at your library or not. Everybody was given extra copies of the posters for the programs that they will have at their library, feel free to post them in your community. Emily will be sending out the PDF files so you can email them and print extras on your own.

Tech Support Meeting Minutes for February 2005

Materials Selection and Cataloging will meet with Jim to discuss ideas re: cross-referencing and added entries. Do not recommend doing it as this time.
Information Technology will removed SRS and BKR as an option from the Location Tab. SRS and BKR will both be under the Temp Loan tab. Done.

Kay and Jim will get together with a representative from the Belle Isle, Midwest City and Downtown libraries to discuss exactly what is needed, in the way of forms, in the MLS Room Manager and the pros and cons. Need to make some changes before proceeding. Jim does not need to be involved with this action item as of yet. Kay and Denyvetta will meet to work on this.

Traci will working with Marketing to obtain a copy of the Spanish version of the Internet Agreement and place it on the Intranet’s Forms page. Laura McMurtry, from Information Technology, translated the current Internet Agreement. This new form has been placed on the Intranet.
