REPORTS

Library Operations – No New Report

Library Operations & Planning

Kay reported the ODL report is due October 1st.

Kay stated the Strategic Plan is due June 2015. Kay proposed the idea to the AD-Team of possibly delaying the Strategic Plan’s due date in order for the new director to get the feel of it. The delay is not final at this time. There will be more information to come.

Administration / Commission

Donna stated the Commission welcomed Sharon Voorhees as their newest Commissioner representing the south-side of Oklahoma City. Sharon Voorhees is an attorney for the Southside Law Firm and excited to be a new Commissioner for the library.  There were four Commissioner Reappointments, Penny McCaleb (OKC), Hugh Rice (OKC), Cindy Friedemann (OKC) and Mukesh Patel (Del City). A vacancy is available for one more Oklahoma City commissioner member. Donna plans to follow-up with the Mayor’s office on this matter.

Donna stated Karen Marriott will fill in for her during the Commission Meeting tomorrow (Sept. 18th). Kay Bauman will be in charge during Donna’s vacation September 18th - Tuesday, September 30th.

Finance & Support

Lloyd announced the auditors are finished and no issues were reported, and  everything is on schedule.

Lloyd stated the surplus sale is Friday, October 17th.

Information Technology – Anne reported the IT Department is reviewing self check machines, point of sale software, and resolving TLC issues at this time.

Development

Diane reported the Public Arts Committee for Jones Library is formed and will begin meeting after Labor Day (Sep. 1st).  

Diane announced Kayla Anderson is the new Development Coordinator and will begin work on Monday, Sept. 22nd. Diane stated Ms. Anderson comes from OSU Foundation and Development is happy.

Human Resources

Kelley reported the new HUM Benefits Manager - Stephany Boice will begin work on Monday, September 22nd.

There are currently 11 open positions and HUM is hoping to get the positions filled as soon as possible.

Kelley gave updates on the Wellness Works program. She reported 131 employees signed up for flu shots and 145 for health screenings.

MAC

Marketing is working on a 15 second MLS commercial and Kim is in contact with Cox Cable to review schedules to run ads in October on channels: TNT (Prime), FX (Prime), ESPN, and a few others.

Kim ordered M&M’s to hand out to our customers in October for Customer Appreciation Month.

Materials & Outreach

Karen stated a few book orders have come in and everything else is running smoothly.

Karen made aware to AD-Team the DED’s will meet with Executive Director Candidates in Donna’s office on Tuesday, September 23rd. Other AD-Team members will meet with them one at a time in the LBB Conference Room (DN), interviews are timed and 45 minutes each. That afternoon the candidates will meet manager level employees at the MLS Service Center and we host a public forum on that evening at the Downtown Library.
