In 2020, MLS approved a new set of core values for the organization. They include Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Innovation; Integrity; People First; and Respect. Now it is time for us an organization to put the core values into action.

News & Departmental Updates:
Experience Passes - Our Day at the Zoo Book Zoo vouchers have been replaced and are being disseminated to the libraries.
Kim Terry was able to secure a verbal agreement with the Oklahoma History Center for another Experience Pass venue. Next steps will be to finalize the agreement and get information and images established for the passes so we can set an implementation date. Other venues are still being checked on to see if there is 1 more that we want to implement this year.

Job Description, Director of Collections and Digital Strategies – Tim
Tim referenced the job descriptions that he had forwarded to the managers earlier. The Director of Collections and Digital Strategies position would replace the previous position of Deputy Executive Director, Materials and Outreach. The duties of the position would include supervision of the managers of Materials Selection, Cataloging & Interlibrary Loan, and Technical Processing. The duties of supervising Outreach have been moved to the public service side and will no longer be a part of this position’s responsibilities.
The group discussed the job description and made suggestions for changes. Tim will incorporate the changes and report back before or at the April 14 meeting.

Statistical Highlights
1,793 titles new to the collection were cataloged in October, including e-media titles; approximately 180 records for mass market paperbacks were added.
Approximately 19,500 new items were added to the collections in October, including about 2,000 browsing collection items.
