Core Values Steering Committee & Subcommittees

In 2020, MLS approved a new set of core values for the organization. They include Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Innovation; Integrity; People First; and Respect. Now it is time for us an organization to put the core values into action.
From among 41 applicants and Leadership Volunteers, the Core Values Steering Committee has now been constituted and will guide the planning and implementation of the core values and provide leadership in maintaining those values once they are implemented. Under the Steering Committee will be several smaller sub-committees that will be addressing various aspects of the planning, implementation, and then the maintenance of the core values on a continuing basis. The Steering Committee will report their activities to and receive operational guidance and oversight from the Leadership Team. The Core Values subcommittees will report their activities to and receive operational guidance and oversight from the Steering Committee.

This is going to be a long-term project and will require a long-term time and effort commitment by the organization and all staff members if it is to be successful and enduring.
The Steering Committee will formally meet in late September 2021 to begin the planning and implementation process. Once a date for the initial meeting has been determined, it will be communicated out to the organization. Then subcommittees will be scheduled to begin their work. More information on this will be forthcoming after the Steering Committee organizes.
