Pilot Project Voting is OPEN!

Thank you for all of your pilot project submissions. We truly appreciate your innovative ideas and your energy for growing our communities in new and exciting ways. The Budget Team (assistant managers on up) reviewed all submissions and ranked their top five choices for implementation. This group also evaluated each project’s alignment with our core values and strategic goals. Lastly, they indicated whether they’d like to see our organization implement the project, and whether they believed the project would be cost-effective.

Announcing the Value Awards!

As you may have heard through the grapevine, in addition to presenting the longevity certificates and pins at FOCUS this year, we will also be unveiling the Value Awards which acknowledge the effort and results of staff members based on their commitment to our six Core Values. Each award will be bestowed to a staff member whose behaviors, contributions, and overall attitude openly reflected and embodied our Core Values.

Pokémon Go

Hi everyone! If you have some questions about Pokémon Go (like, "what is it?"), here are the basics: public areas like libraries may be marked as special places in the newly-released augmented reality game Pokémon Go. The game is a free app played on smartphones. You may have kids (and adults!) coming to you and wandering around the building with devices, trying to catch or battle Pokémon.

We want to hear your IDEAS for new projects

The library has allocated a portion of the budget to fund new and innovative products, services, and experiences. The Leadership Team is looking for pilot project ideas that would help advance our strategic goals (Library Unbound and SOaP). The pilot projects will likely be implemented in one, two, or three libraries (but not system-wide, unless it is a departmental project).
