Tech Support Meeting Minutes for December 2006

IT monitored the calls and staff usage of V-CIRC. IT’s recommendation is to leave V-CIRC as is with allowing only one instance of the program to be open at one time.

Buddy Johnson was absent and was unable to report back on the spell check and author search within CyberMARS.

Jimmy Welch and Janet Brooks discussed the Material Selection process and spreadsheet over customer suggestions. Janet recommended not taking on the process that would alert individuals the status of a customer suggested title.

Tech Support Meeting Minutes for October 2006

Welcome to New Members – Thank You to Out Going Members – Kay Bauman presented certificates to Randy Wayland and Clyde Herrod for their years of service on the Tech Group Committee. Kay welcomed new members: Kathy Dunn, Buddy Johnson, Aaron Killough, and Deb Willis

Membership – Kay Bauman addressed Cataloging’s request to have a full-time member on the Tech Support committee. Kay also added that on the Committee Fact sheet that the Webmaster and Marketing and Communications Manager status should be to “always attend”. After discussion Cataloging’s request was met and a permanent member will be on the Tech Group list.

Tech Support Meeting Minutes for August 2006

Internet—Teresa announced that she had been working with Development to fix the header for the Endowment pages. Teresa also talked about the use of the Summer Reading Pages. Sample teen pages were sent to Kim Terry and Emily Williams for review and guidelines were sent for those to be content providers.

Intranet—Teresa is still completing an ongoing project of cleaning files and renaming tags in documents on the Intranet. Kim Terry and Kay Bauman suggested changing the template and adding a navigation button for the What’s New page instead of a drop-down menu.

Tech Support Meeting Minutes for April 2006

Tech Support exchanged information on a suggestion received by IT from a fellow staff member on the new CyberMARS. IT replied back and the letter was discussed.
A suggestion was received by Tech Support to notify customers a x number of days before an specific item was due.

Tech Support decided that this project would be difficult to implement due to the large amounts of emails being sent for such a project. Currently, the library sends out thousands of emails daily. This suggestion would require that interval change on when to generate emails.

Tech Support Meeting Minutes for February 2006

A verbal suggestion was given to the Webmaster to place the website on the back of the library cards.

IT announced library cards have already been ordered and will consider placing the website on the next batch of cards ordered.

After an incident report was filed, an issue concerning the PPO option on CyberMARS was addressed. Any child card can be changed by anyone who has any adult card that has the child’s number and first four letters of the child’s last name.

Tech Support concluded that on the PPO option indicates which individual made the changes to a child’s card. If a parent is concerned about the child’s card, the parent may view the child’s card and see who last updated the card. A new card could be issued to a child who has had a card tampered with and will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
