Tech Support Meeting Minutes for October 2004

Employee Leave Calendar will be placed on the staff home page.
Done.

Materials Selection and Cataloging will meet with Jim to discuss ideas re: cross-referencing and added entries. In progress.

Judy will compile a list of all location codes and will run the list by Library Managers to decide which ones to take out of the change location and temp loan options. Managers will review the list and provide feedback on what is needed/not needed. Done. Judy has provided feedback to Jim. SRS and BKR will be removed as an option from the Location Code tab. SRS and BKR will both be under the Temp Loan tab. This update will take place soon.

Teresa will send a link to the Drop Down Sample Page to all Tech Support members. Done.

Tech Support Meeting Minutes for August 2004

Judy and Jim will work on and send a memo alerting staff to the new “Display” codes. This has been done.

Lloyd will work with Lori Kane on issuing parking coupons for visitors to the new RJN DN Library. This has been done.
Lloyd, Woodrow and Traci will work on updating the parking map to reflect only those locations that visitors can park. This has been done.

Judy will send out an e-mail to staff regarding implementation of the change in the mlsHRPay screen. This has been done.
Judy will discuss having a “book drop renew” button at the next Library Manager’s meeting. The System Reserve Task Force is reviewing this.
Cataloging and Materials Selection will discuss cross-referencing and added entries. They have met to discuss both issues. They will now need to meet with Jim to discuss their ideas.

Tech Support Meeting Minutes for June 2004

Scott will compile a “top 20” listing of more inviting wording than “MLS Databases”. He will investigate each name due to copyright issues.
This is still a work-in-progress. Scott will e-mail Kay what he has before next Tech Support meeting.

Judy will review new location codes, YA Sequoyah and YA Award.
This has been implemented. The new locations codes are as follows:
YAA – Young Adult Award YAS – Young Adult Sequoyah

Kay and Jim will work on revamping the advanced search instructions on CyberMARS.
This is a work-in-progress.
Kay will discuss mlsSerials with Jim and give Janet a possible timeline for training purposes.
Kay reported that they have not gotten together regarding this issue due to the Downtown move.

Judy and Jim will discuss the “Display” location code.

Scott reported that he is still working on this assignment, however he will e-mail Kay what he has compiled so far.

Judy will review new location codes, YA Sequoyah and YA Award.
Judy did present this issue to library managers. Library managers would like to see these two new location codes added. This issue will be forwarded to

Automation for updating.

Kay will finalize the instructions to use the databases.
Kay received no feedback from Tech Support members, therefore instructions will be placed on the Web.

Teresa will e-mail new database listing to all Tech Support members when Kay completes her action item.

Scott will consider more inviting wording than “MLS Databases” and provide those to Kay.

Scott presented several ideas to Tech Support and will compile a listing of the top 20 ideas and present those at the next Tech Support meeting. Jim requested that Scott investigate his “top 20” due to copyright issues.

Automation will add a printing tip on CyberMARS alerting customers to set up their browsers so that the headings are visible when printed.
This has been done.
