Library Operations (Headquarters) – Candace is working on details for the 2014 Staff Recognition Event and is completing training on the new MSDS Electronic Management System.

Administration / Commission – Donna announced there is a member vacancy in the Library Commission. Commission member Bose’ Akadiri, who represents the south-side of Oklahoma City, has resigned. Bose’s term expires in 2015. Donna asked Ad-Team members to provide their recommendations on a suitable replacement who currently resides on the south-side of Oklahoma City. The Library Commission has zero representation for the south-side of Oklahoma City at this time.

Finance & Support – Lloyd announced our new Security Manager, Ed Dillard, who started work yesterday (May 27th). Lloyd discussed Ed Dillard’s background to Ad-Team. Prior to becoming the MLS Security Manager, he was a Security Director for Chesapeake Energy. He also worked for the Oklahoma County Sheriff.

Lloyd met with the auditors this week and there were only a few changes.

Lloyd also stated the Human Resources Department is working on insurance packets and will send them out to employees this week.

Lloyd reported the Maintenance Department is working on fire alarms at all locations; ensuring they’re up to code.

Information Technology – Anne reported the IT Department is working on ILS.

Development – Diane is working on sending emails to potential donors who weren’t able to attend the cultivation event that took place May 19th at the Northwest Library. The email will inform the potential donors of future programs/events and ways to support the Metropolitan Library System. There were a total of 68 people who attended the NW cultivation event.

The next cultivation event will take place at the Edmond Library. There is no scheduled date at this time.

Human Resources – Absent

MAC – Kim reported the Marketing Department is working on new design wraps for the MLS trucks. She has contacted Anne Fischer and Curtiss Ray for truck measurements.

Kim posted the advertising / promotion schedule on the intranet which also shows all current MLS advertisements.

Materials & Outreach – No New Report

Outreach – Dana reported, Kristin Williamson volunteered at the Warr Acres Wal-Mart to promote Summer Reading. Spoticus was also in attendance. Dana stated Outreach spoke to a few people who did not know that the Warr Acres Library existed. Dana is excited to know that people are now aware of the library in their area. The Outreach Department is continuing to spread the word about Summer Reading and other MLS events.

Library Operations – Denyvetta announced Erin Bedford is the new Northwest Library - Assistant Manager. Erin was promoted from a full-time Librarian at Northwest to the Assistant Manager.
There were a couple of changes of members on the CONNET Forum (Consist of Librarians) and Circulation Forum (Consist of Circulation Clerks).  Julie is the new Chair of CIRC Forum.

Library Operations & Planning – Kay reported the Summer Reading numbers are looking great. Over 4,900 people have pre-registered by today (May 28th). Sunday, June 1st is the first official day of Summer Reading; they expect a large number to register after this date. There are no other reports for Planning.
