When does the Birthday BRB display?

The BRB will display when the customer reaches his/her 17th birthday (this has been corrected in the program as it was previously set at 16).

Haunt the Hill

Halloween celebrations took place on Capitol Hill Main Street on Halloween night as part of the 1st Haunt the Hill Event, an idea conceived by Jennifer Jones, Capitol Hill Associate Librarian, in collaboration with the Capitol Hill Business Improvement District. This event sought to provide a fun and safe event for the community that both young and old could enjoy.

2nd Annual Toddler Halloween Parade/Library Tour

This Tuesday and Wednesday the Edmond Library held the 2nd annual Toddler Halloween Parade/Library Tour. We combine the two because not all families participate in Halloween, but we want everyone to particiapte in the library tour, going behind the circulation desk, meeting the librarians (and getting a little candy while they're at it!). Let's face it, babies and toddlers are adorable without being in costume, but dress them up as Superman or a princess?! It doesn't get any cuter than that!!

PCS Forum Minutes - April 2013

Todd opened with a discussion about the purpose of this forum and what we wanted to accomplish. Also, we discussed what the forum should not be. The group agreed the forum should be used to express concerns, customer issues, to compare notes, for best practices of the job, and offer feedback on different experiences. However, the forum should not be used as a “gripe” session or for customer complaints. Our goal is to provide our customers with a consistent library experience.

I jumped at the chance to read What Popular Culture is Telling Us About Libraries and Why We Should Listen on the Library Journal website when it appeared in my newsfeed. Like many of us, I’ve always been fascinated by the depiction of libraries and librarians in literature, film and song.
