Ad-Team Meeting Minutes for March 2001

Date: March 28, 2001

Present: Norm Maas, Ernestine Clark, Julia Fresonke, Karen Marriott, Donna Morris, Ric Rea, Judy Walden, Jim Welch, and Anne Hsieh (meeting chair)

Library Cards for Emancipated Minors: Currently, the library policy requires a parent or a guardian to co-sign library cards issued to minors. Therefore, no library cards can be issued to emancipated minors who do not have a parent or a guardian. After discussions, it was decided that we would issue a minor card to those emancipated minors. That means they will have the same privileges and restrictions as other minors.

Library Organizational Chart: Norm stated that he would work further with Jim on the organizational chart. He suggested changing those dotted lines between him and department heads shown on the chart presented last time to solid lines. That means he will share the supervision responsibilities with respective division heads including input on performance evaluations. He also commented that the chart would continue to evolve in the future. Inform Norm if anyone feels he/she should report to a different division from what is shown in the chart.

Long-Range Plan: Norm reported that a Long-Range Planning Committee meeting was scheduled on April 5, 2001. Donna will report to the Committee an overview of all library capital projects that are either currently under construction or planned in the near future.
