Discussion topics

  • Phase III:
    • Break Rooms and study rooms discussion ensued.
    • No study rooms will be open.
    • Computer stations will not be cleaned, but cleaning supplies will be available for customers to clean them.
    • Patio’s will not be open.
    • Indoor book drops will be open, but staff should try to wear gloves if a customer directly hands them books.
    • Book/materials donations will not be accepted. Our Friends volunteers that process the donations have not yet come back.
    • Marketing templates will be provided for unique signage at individual libraries.
    • There will be commercials airing on tv in Spanish and English.
    • These and any social media videos can be aired on library monitors.
  • Telework policy is still being discussed. Procedures are being drafted.

 

Department Questions, Updates, etc.

DVS

  • Friends are still not accepting donations
  • Learning & Development:
  • Onboarding new coordinator
  • Getting more eResource training ready

IT

  • Looking at Bid Processes for sorter

MTC

  • Finishing lights at SO and will start on the lights at NW next week.
  • Discussing with the city the DN security system.
  • Working with contractor on Edmond A/C

Marketing & Public Relations

  • Templates & Signage for Phase 3 will be ready soon.
  • Reaching out to news stations about reopening.

Operations

  • Temporary BI Library – working on it. Completion mid-July
  • MC Restrooms renovation contract will be awarded this week
  • BI shelving project awarded this week
  • Looking at August/September for possible groundbreaking for BI
  • AL- waiting on the city
  • NW shades- contract awarded. Going up in next 2 or 3 months

Special Collections

  • Owns publication rights to Hold the Walls by Clara Luper. We are going to publish it as an eBook and put on OverDrive and make available to everyone.

PS

  • Fine free on children’s materials in July. This will be voted on by the MLC Thursday
  • ILL still not taking place.

 

Exec Committee

  • Took out the word entertain from the new mission statement. Enrich encompasses entertain.
  • Core Values were discussed.
