  • Planning for Summer Reading campaign – tv/radio commercial, print/digital ads, promo video for schools, t-shirt/poster design, website, Beanstack badges, etc.

  • Pushing for Friends Memberships and Volunteers for Book Sale
  • Literary Voices 1st sponsor deadline is Friday, Jan. 17; event April 9

  • We are more than 50% through the year.  Review your budget for 2024/2025 and make sure all purchases will be received before 6/30/2025.   Review your special funds and make sure those will be utilized before the end of the year as well.
  • Budget request templates will go out in February.   Start planning for 2025/2026
  • Remind staff that RTOs can be partially converted for purchases/service that arrive in stages (greater than 3 days apart)

 

CGO

 

  • Interview ALM II DN last week; ALM II NW interviews next week
  • ED would appreciate volunteers to assist with processing materials in the absence of their sorter.
  • Please visit locations to attend programs and events as time allows.

SEC

  • DN camera work ongoing; rescheduled due to closure days last week.
  • NW cameras onsite; next project in line.
  • Please report any issues with alarms to Dennis or on-call number.

RD-Mark

  • BE – Voices & Votes final two weeks – activities ongoing
  • BI – Daniel manager onboarding going well
  • CH – Planning for Kids Cafe
  • DN – Computer Tables installed, computers replaced, everything going well this morning – big kudos to IT for all their help and flexibility!  Assistant Manager hiring held last week.

RD-Erin

  • CT received new chairs
  • RE moving forward on new shelving

RD-Tracie

  • VI- New Partnership with restaurant Neighborhood Jam for upcoming event. Restaurant employees will volunteer at the event
  • ED- Reshelving.  Call will go out to ask for assistance with shelving
  • ED 2 – City of ED forming a committee to name the new library
  • ED 2 – COM working on FAQ for ED staff to use in answering questions about new library

OES

  • Dolly Day Jan. 16 (Celebrations at SO Sun. Jan. 19 & NW Sat., Jan. 18); all locations giving out butterfly stickers, message from “Dolly” to Breathe & Read! And DPIL bookmarks.
  • Summer Reading planning continues—book order will go in soon; working w/ committees and COM on promotion and information
  • Should be holding interviews for Adult Services Manager and Outreach Librarians soon!

COO

 

  • Inclement Weather Update – kudos to Stephen D. for checking buildings, parking lots, and moving snow as needed to prepare Saturday opening
  • Steve Butts out-of-office 01/13-01/19; call Chris or Stephen D. in his absence

CSD

  • 4.1 million checkouts on Libby in 2024; current average wait time 14 days, not counting prepublication wait time
  • Inclement weather can impact shipping for materials. Vendor warehouses are located across the country.

FAC

  • Email being sent out to remind locations to check supplies of ice melt and for snow shovels.
  • Thank you to locations for putting out ice melt in advance of snow. It was very helpful.
  • MW chiller in final wrap-up stages.
  • CT outdoor sprinkler work is being done in preparation to prevent freezing.

  • ED & NW Sorter Prep

CPO

 

  • Please ensure that all non-exempt and exempt staff scheduled to work on January 9 or January 10 submit Unexpected Closure leave for any time not worked. Telework eligible positions that completed work during the closure should submit the appropriate leave.
  • Payroll Tuesday, January 21, employee timecard approvals due by 8:00 a.m., supervisors by 9:00 a.m.
  • The Total Wellness screenings scheduled for January 9 are being rescheduled.
  • The Benefits team is reconciling 1095-C forms in Paycom. The forms will be available January 31.
  • HUM staff are working on the annual 2024 PEOSH reports. The Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses reports will be sent out to locations for posting by February 1.

  • Northwest and Edmond Sorter update – thank you to everyone involved in these projects; two new sorters up and running in the next few weeks

 

  • Downtown public computer table install completed.
