The Leadership Team talked about Freedom to Learn- We treasure and protect each member’s freedom to read, view, and learn in order to achieve his/her highest potential. The Regional Directors shared feedback from the Public Services Manager’s meeting and the staff meetings. Overall this is a core value everyone believes should stay but there may be some changes in language to it.

A proposed change to mileage procedures was shared with the group. Discussion followed. Any feedback should be given to Charisse by April 15th and there will be a further discussion at the next Leadership Team meeting.

The Oklahoma Museum of Art has reached out about possibly having passes to the museum be checked out at the library. A group, including representation from IT, Access and Public Services, will be exploring the possibility/feasibility of this.

On May 1st staff will be given access to a list of 5 items that they can choose from for the system-wide staff recognition. They will have 2 weeks to place their order and that way the order can be invoiced by June.

We had a discussion about the supply budget and purchasing paper and plastic products as a system.

We had a short discussion about the dress code and have formed a committee to discuss further. The committee members are Julie Ballou, Mark Schuster, Pauline Rodriguez-Atkins, Milissa Copeland and Erin Bedford.

A discussion about the Friend Grant process was had. The Friend’s Grants will continue to have a larger system-wide focus to them.

Operations is transitioning with Morgan leaving. They are looking into different software for the doors to make it easier to manage. They are working with the City of Bethany on an issue with the sorter for the new building. BI planning is on going and OKC is planning on holding community meetings in 3 to 4 months for input on the renovation. DC has hit a small snag in relation to hiring the library consultant as the Commission Meeting was canceled so that should be moving forward after this month’s Commission Meeting. There has been a delivery logistic study going on and there will be some recommendations from that soon. They met with the City of Edmond last week to discuss the HVAC system. MTC is working on getting silent panic alarm buttons installed at all locations, focusing first on those locations where there is not a security presence. OKC is starting to move forward on their plans for renovations (HVAC, parking lot) at WR and it is expected to be started before the end of 2020. OKC also intends to replace the skylights at DN sometime in the next 2 years.

Admin attend the Legislative Breakfast and it was a success. Kim had created a great flyer which presented data from Tableau about Metro’s statistics to share. They will be joining a hard hat tour of the new Norman library on 4/4. The Commission has provided positive feedback about the new website.
