Policy

The Naming of Library Buildings & Spaces Policy establishes the responsibility for naming library spaces. All library buildings in the Metropolitan Library System are public spaces and property of the cities within Oklahoma County and Oklahoma City, served by the Metropolitan Library System.

SF 700.2 Gift Procedures

  1. Libraries may accept donations of new or used books/materials from donors with the intent to be sold. These donations will be sold by the Friends of the Metropolitan Library System (Friends) for benefit of the Metropolitan Library System (Library).

    Policy Statement

    The Gifts, Sponsorships and Grants policy ensures that the Metropolitan Library System (Library) encourages, accepts and uses gifts, sponsorships and grants that are consistent with the library system’s mission, values and policies.

    Donations can be made to the Library Endowment Trust (Trust) or the Friends of the Metropolitan Library System (Friends) which exist to handle monetary gifts, gifts of materials and enduring gifts which support the library’s vital role in the community.

    Incentives to Read - February 6, 2014

    Kay handed out copies of the minutes from last meeting. John Wood (IT) and Kay will finish their library visits on February 7th. These visits helped determine the computer needs for each library location in regards to the new online summer reading program. These visits also helped ensure an overall understanding of the program. Library staff indicated the menu of computer options are wonderful and will help attain the guidelines identified in the Summer Reading Online Registration announcement. Some locations made a some purchase requests that we have forwarded to Anne (IT) and DVS for futher information.

    Ad-Team Meeting Minutes for November 2002

    Kay introduced Helen Chacon who gave a brief summary of the True North program for new employee orientation. This partnership between Planning and Human Resources will provide new employees a structured overview on their first day of work. Training will be held every other Monday on payroll weeks. All new full-time employees will be scheduled for this orientation. New employee packets will be covered during this time. A condensed version will be developed for part-time and half-time employees. This will be presented to the X-Change group on Monday with implementation planned for December 9, 2002.
