Press Release & System News

If you have been following the Ad-Team minutes lately, you may notice a new report from Deputy Executive Director, Kay Bauman.  Kay has created a series of SPinutes (Strategic Plan minutes) where she takes a look our Strategic Plan and relates it to the wonderful work we as a system are accomplishing.  Kay's SPinute from September 27th was especially valuable, so we decided to film it!  We believe these SPinutes help relate our Strategic Plan goals to the great work you're completing daily.  Now on to the main show!

On September 27th, we asked the following question on Facebook: We’re assuming since you can read this, you’re a library lover so we want to know: what’s your favorite memory of the library?  We have reviewed and analyzed their responses and created a SPinute video where we read their comments and talk about how they tie to our Strategic Plan responses.  Enjoy!

Have a few more seconds? Enjoy our outtakes!

How do the repeating words, terms and concepts in the Facebook comments correlate to our responses in the Strategic Plan and what can we learn from this?

Each day as we go about our tasks, remember each one of us has the opportunity to create a memory for someone. What memory do you want to help create? Which goal will you work toward?

I hit the compatibility mode and it worked. Thanks Andrew and Kellie Delaney.

Yes!

Yes, there is a video. Would you call Planning so we can see if there is some technological issue or if there is something else happening?

Inspiring!

That was such an inspiring video to hear all of the library memories our Facebook friends posted. It made me think that no matter what position we hold in the library, we are helping create these memories for our customers. I appreciate the frontline staff, who have the most one-on-one contact with our customers. It can be a challenge, helping so many people with different personalities, needs, and backgrounds. I know that our frontline staff strive to make each customer's experience a great one. I also appreciate the background staff. They don't often get to see the excitement of the children or see how happy a customer is when a library staff member finds exactly what they need. Yet, Maintenance keeps the buildings in great shape and delivers the new books and reserves quickly for our eager customers. The Business Office pays our bills so that we can continue purchasing materials and pay for all our many expenses. Cataloging and Tech Processing receive, catalog, process and get our materials out to our customers as quickly as possible, while IT makes sure our computer systems are running smoothly. I know I didn't mention every department, but EVERY staff member in EVERY department in our library system plays a part in creating these positive library experiences and memories for our customers. Let's continue to do our best to serve our customers.
