Help Yourself + Help Others ODL Workshop Mar. 28

According to the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS), more than 700,000 Oklahomans could benefit from treatment for mental illness or substance abuse disorders. Yet the state ranks 46th in the nation for state-sponsored behavioral health services. ODL wants to prepare libraries in Oklahoma for addressing this need (from ODL's Website).

It’s no big secret that one of the library’s primary purposes is connecting readers to books. It’s the first thing people think of when you say ‘library’ and many of our programs are tied to reading for enjoyment, learning, information, literacy, etc. Even though this is such an important part of what we do, this purpose is locked behind a rectangular piece of plastic called the library card.

SA Movie Poll Results - And the Winner is...

We have calculated the results from the movie poll. We had a large number of staff members that voted between three choices: Peter Rabbit, Wrinkle In Time, and Sherlock Gnomes. And the winner is....Wrinkle in Time! Wrinkle in Time won by a landslide. So stay tuned. We are working hard to make this event happen.

The Public (Movie) Key Messages and Strategy Recommendations
