Discussed current Workers Comp (WC) cases. Reoccurring injuries are repetitive motion/sprains and strains
Discussed sharing the video library from CompSource with staff. These could be a supplement to our current quarterly safety trainings by staff. Also discussed Compsource having monthly handouts with safety topics for managers to share with staff at monthly staff meetings. Handouts have been prepared. We will need to determine how we distribute these out to managers.

At the last meeting, Denise reported on a Worker’s Comp claim from Choctaw involving a strong chemical odor coming from the janitor closet. Since that meeting, Todd Podzemny and Curtiss Ray have inspected the area and found the source of the odor was a mop saturated with Pine Sol had been left in the closet. The odor was circulated through the ventilation system. Todd has spoken with the janitor about the problem and asked that they ensure mops and other equipment are properly cleaned/rinsed and stored. There have been no further problems reported.
Curtiss reported that he has met with the Fire Marshal at all library locations. Northwest will add another emergency exit through the employee area. Plan drawings for evacuation routes have been sent to Construction Management.
Southern Oaks has added another safety chain to make the loading dock area more secure.
Jana Hausburg has resigned from the Safety Committee so we have an open position and need representation from another library.
