Safety Committee Meeting Minutes for September 10, 2013

Discussion:
Review of last minutes had no changes or discussions.
Denise reported that 3rd quarter safety training is about 75% complete. Training is due by the end of September.
New hire training is not included in this report as this is now completed in Goal.
LMS has made safety training much more efficient although some have indicated this takes more time to complete. Lori pointed out that if you listen to the narration rather than reading the text, the training takes a little longer. Also, we have the ability to re-take sections of the test rather than retaking the entire test.
Required safety training for 4th quarter will include fire evacuation procedures as well as new hazard communications standards. All managers have been asked to provide site-specific written evacuation procedures that will become a part of the required training for all staff. Once those are complete, 4th quarter training will be announced.
Worker’s Comp reportable injuries are at three for the year.
Around the table:
Heidi mentioned that, while reviewing the written procedures for the service center, she found that signage for evacuation routes is missing. This is also a need at Ralph Ellison, Southern Oaks and Northwest. We will follow up with Construction Management about the progress of this signage.
