I would like to thank the frontline staff who completed the Microsoft Forms regarding Circ Forum in 2021. Based on the results, Circulation Forum will continue to meet quarterly in 2022.

Welcome: Tricia called the meeting to order and welcomed new representatives David Calhoun (BI) and David Morand (BE). Attendees shared a micro-win from their locations in the chat to start the meeting on a positive note.

RD System Updates (LaVetta Dent): Locations will provide notary services in the near future. Two new Experience Passes will launch November 1 for the Oklahoma History Center (plus affiliated locations) and the Museum of Osteology. The Edmond 2 workgroup is progressing with community assessments and surveys.

2021 Circulation Forum

Hello,

First, I would like to thank the frontline staff who answered feedback regarding the 2020 Circulation Forum meetings. Based on the results, Circulation Forum will continue in 2021 and meet quarterly. Some feedback indicated that it was unclear as to what Circulation Forum is. This post is intended to provide more transparency about what the Forum is and its purpose.

History

The Circulation Forum was originally created in November 2009 with the following goals/purposes:

Circulation Forum

With the structure of the Access Managers and Library Managers, there are several manager levels providing information to front line staff. To address concerns directly from front line staff and encourage a culture of information sharing, Circulation Forum be brought back. The first year we will evaluate the effectiveness and need of Circulation Forum for the system. This will be done by Circ Forum participants, the planning committee, and library leadership.

Circulation Forum Minutes - May 2014

Kay gave a brief history of the Circulation Forum and its purposes. The group first met in November 2009. Their stated goals/purposes are as follows:

Improve consistency of policy and procedural adherence amongst MLS locations.
To provide a system-wide venue of communication for circulation clerks.
Platform for sharing ideas.
To put circulation clerks in position to where they can hear information first-hand.
