Database Highlight #38: We've Got the Legal Form for That

 

“Tax Deadline” may not be poetry to your ears but it does happen in April. This week’s database highlight, Legal Forms Library, provides our customers with state-specific copies/examples of legal forms, including various tax forms. Most major forms can be downloaded in Word. The database has forms on Divorce, Wills, Real Estate, Bankruptcy, and much more!

Volunteer Hours Log - The Link has Changed

There has been a change in the link for logging volunteer hours.  The shortcuts that were previously used have been replaced by this link:  https://volunteer.metrolibrary.org.  The link will work from any computer.

Metro MakerSpace: What's in a Name?

Wanted: Your Creativity

Why: We need a name for “potential” MakerSpace rooms at Metro, the first of which will be located in the new Bethany Library.

Background: A committee has been working on system guidelines for MakerSpaces, and one of the topics is what to name the space. The committee recommends using the same name for any MakerSpace areas that are developed in the future. The team agreed that we have a lot of staff members who are very creative, so we would like to hear your suggestions for naming the space!

Summer Reading #ireadbecause Campaign 2018

We are preparing to enter that beautiful time of year when the weather is warm and sunny, the days are longer and students are filling the library ready to read the summer away.

Each year the library uses the #ireadbecause social media campaign to help drive home the importance of reading and promote the Summer Reading Program.

Teacher Walkout Resources (Updated 4/2)

You may be aware that there is a teacher walkout in the state of Oklahoma today (04.02.18), and several school districts are closed. Some schools have also closed tomorrow. A list of school closings is available HERE.

2nd Quarter Safety Training Due June 30th

Learning and Development would like to announce the 2nd quarter online safety training to all staff. The training is required to be completed by June 30, 2018. This training is titled, “Basic First Aid” and can be found in EduBrite.

It’s National Poetry Month! All over the city and in the libraries, people will be celebrating the art of the poem.
