As our service environment changes, we need to examine how we can provide service in the most meaningful ways and build long-term relationships to the communities that we serve. I want to discuss a vision of how our customer service model will evolve of the coming year and provide a brief overview of what we want to achieve and why we are doing it.

In 2020, MLS approved a new set of core values for the organization. They include Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Innovation; Integrity; People First; and Respect. Now it is time for us an organization to put the core values into action.

What is happening?
MLS will be implementing some changes to our Library Accounts and Borrowing policies beginning July 1st. The two major changes happening in July will be starting a fine free pilot and transitioning to a three-year expiration date for library accounts.

This video is about describing the general state of our library system. It is a 20,00-foot perspective of where we are today and how we can move forward in becoming a meaningful and impacting organization for the communities we serve. I am still learning and listening to you and our stakeholders to better understand what our needs are and how we can make a difference. But, I wanted to give you an idea of what I am thinking and where we are; it does not include everything that we do well or need to improve on. There will be more videos in the future that will address things more specifically.
I will be out learning and listening to you as we move forward. I hope you decide that we can be a leader in our communities and work together to bring success to fruition for everyone. Thanks for listening to me ramble for a while.
