AL 320.2 Appeals Process for Guests

These procedures provide the process by which a guest can appeal a suspension or ban from the Metropolitan Library System.

Procedure Update - SH 110.2 Compensation Plan (Revised 09/23)

You may have noticed a new starting pay rate in HUM's recent recruitment announcements for Access Specialists.  In May, Administration recommended increasing the minimum pay for salary grade 31 positions from $13.46 per hour to $14.13 per hour.  This change was approved as part of the final budget and went into effect on October 2.  Current salary grade 31 employees below the updated minimum will receive the new rate in their October 19 paychecks.  The updated procedure, SH 110.2

1. Pre-hire

All applicants required to drive a Metropolitan Library System (“Library”) owned vehicle as a condition of employment (“applicants”), will be required to complete a skills assessment and/or road test with a Library representative or a Library designated thirdparty, and following a conditional offer of employment, to pass a pre-hire drug test. Anything less than a clean report is not acceptable by the Library.

  • IT/MLS received a grant from ODL for $1679 to provide additional webcams and headsets for staff. Anne Fischer is the grant lead.

  • LET received a grant from the Kirkpatrick Foundation for $43,000 to begin the Oklahoma Contemporary Art Reference Library at Downtown. Judith Matthews is the grant lead.

Leadership Team Minutes - March 31, 2021

News:

  • Larry White shared that he completed his visits throughout the Library system and will be scheduling visits in the future.
  • Heather Zeoli shared updates from DVS to include Library Giving Day on April 7th and The Friends of the Library taking donations at Service Center beginning April 6th. There will be an email to all staff with details. Additionally the Library Endowment Trust announced that Literary Voices will be moved to 2022.

AM 100 Borrowing Procedures Research

It has been a while since our lively forum discussion about the BIG changes proposed to the AM 100 Borrowing policy. Since then, the Borrowing Procedures Committee has met a number of times to consider the proposed policy, identify all procedures – official or unofficial – and make recommendations for the parts of the policy that need procedures and the parts that are in need of training support prior to implementation. Attached is a document that describes in detail the questions the committee asked and answered as well as other information they learned through this process.

  1. Staff will determine for which account type the applicant is eligible and issue that account using formatting best practices.
    1. Parents or guardians may submit student applications through a school or correctional institution.
  2. School accounts will expire 1 year (365 days) from the date eligibility is established or renewed.
