SH 410.1 Discipline Procedures

These procedures implement the Policy of the Metropolitan Library Commission providing a series of disciplinary actions or stages that may take place when coaching is unsuccessful or not appropriate. The stages are progressively more severe leading to improvement of performance or termination from employment. Progressive discipline is not a RIGHT; but an opportunity, offered by the library system, to correct performance on the job. The library reserves the right to combine or skip steps depending upon facts of each situation and the nature of the offense.

The Discipline Policy provides a process to address undesirable behavior and/or performance issues with employees of the Metropolitan Library System (“Library”).

To discuss the employment, hiring, appointment, promotion, demotion, disciplining or resignation of any individual salaried public officer or employee, pursuant to the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, Title 25, Oklahoma Statutes § 307, (B)(1)

Review the grievance of Ellington H. Woody Sr., Public Computer Specialist, Ralph Ellison Library, in accordance with the Grievance Procedure of the Metropolitan Library System and render the final decision, regarding employment of said employee, to be implemented by the Executive Director.
