Young Adult Services Meeting Minutes for March 2012

Breakfast and visiting

Emily called the meeting to order.
Updates

Thank you to Del City for letting us use the meeting space. Introductions.

Free comic book day: First Saturday in May. Outreach will get the comic books from ODL and route them to you. Make sure to have at least one staff member working that day that knows what's going on. Go to the free comic book website to see the list of comic books being offered this year. We try to get all ages books but please make sure to be careful not to let children get teen rated comics. Buck at New World Comics offered his services to Annie but sadly they won’t be open yet. If you want to set up a bigger program, you should call him. He might even have his staff dress up and hand out for the comics for you.

We have lots of March programs coming up. Teen Tech, After School at your Library, Hunger Games - We just got the Hunger Games cookbook and the sound track.

X-Change Meeting Minutes for February 20, 2012

Welcome
Kay Bauman called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm. Kay welcomed the supervisors to the Capitol Hill Library and X-Change meeting. Lloyd Lovely introduced the new Human Resources Director, Lori Hedin and Kay introduced Jon Rollman the Library Analyst.

Enrolling Staff in Classes
Dana Beach shared a quick training session on how to use new LMS features to enroll staff in a class on the LMS. (Training guide attached to minutes)

Ad-Team Meeting Minutes for September 2001

Scott introduced the new Assistant Director of Public Relations, Jeanne Devlin.

Request came to Judy Walden from Friends' Coordinator Vickey Dooley for consideration of free library cards for Friends Sorting Site Volunteers who live out of Oklahoma County (and therefore would normally pay $40 for an Annual Fee Card). Decision of Ad Team, after discussion, is that Friends of the Library will be asked (through a grant or other means) to fund an Annual Fee card for any volunteer--whether library or Friends--who live outside the MLS service area. Discussion included having appropriate requirements for qualifying, such as volunteers must be officially registered as a library volunteer, submit time sheets, and have 100 hours per each year a card is obtained or renewed. Ernestine Clark will handle this via Vickey Dooley.
