Access Workshop Content Revamp Workgroup (Kevin Sendall, MC): Kevin reviewed the 6 Thinking Hats the access workshop content revamp workgroup discussed. Attendees participated in the green hat exercise.
System Updates (Mark Schuster, PSA)
- Shared MLS Vacancies
- Staff Day October 10 – Social distancing will be enforced. There will be no breakout rooms. All full-time staff are required to attend.
- Literary voices in September
- RDs are reviewing Guest Experiences and defining ideas. More coming soon
- Facilities Update – WA closing in Sept for parking lot resurfacing, ED closing for one day for parking lot work, ED2 is progressing well – single facility housing ED2 & YMCA, AL ground will be broken soon
- Pilot project, Your Book in the Library, writing your own book which will be sent to CSD to be processed to be added to the library collection
- DN café space leased being signed this week. Not Your Average Joe employs neurodiverse individuals.
- We are seeking to become an affiliate with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The Friends of the Library are on-board. Imaginationlibrary.com
- Workgroup reviewing Rules of Conduct – reviewing in light of Guest Experiences
- TLCU – Risa was chosen as the keynote speaker
- In early September, budget and Class & Comp will be reviewed, and they will vote for it to be approved
- Everything is getting more expensive. This year’s budget will be the biggest we’ve ever had. We need to make sure our decisions are sustainable. LM’s had their PD meeting and discussed staffing for the future as well as growth in the future without increasing budget. More information on that will be shared soon.
