3rd Quarter Safety Training - Due Tuesday, 9/30/14

Safety Training for the 3rd Quarter covers Hazard Communications.  This is required training annually for all employees.  Required training includes reviews of the Hazard Communications GHS PowerPoint, the Hazard Communication Program in the MLS Safety Manual, and the online Hazard Communication training course through Metro U.

Booking Conference Rooms

As you know, our meeting room booking policies and procedures changed as of June 1. These procedures include the way we reserve spaces for internal meetings and training as well as meetings and events for customers.

For those of you who plan and reserve space for internal meetings and training, in the Brawner Conference Room, 3rd Floor Conference Room and Metro U Training Room at Downtown or the conference room at the Service Center, we have a new reservation procedure. We will no longer use the manual calendars for these meeting spaces.

Forever May You Wave—What Happens to Our Worn American Flags?

Metropolitan Library System locations proudly fly the American flag. The display of flags at public buildings was established in the Federal Flag Code approved in 1942 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Flag Code governs the proper display, and when no longer in pristine condition, the proper disposal of the American flag.

VALUE LINE IS BACK UP FOR EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS!

You may have already heard this from your customers but Value Line is down for our external and wifi customers and we have contacted them so they are working on this problem. Value Line currently works on the staff and public computers. We'll let you know as soon as it's back up and running for everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Use NoveList to find titles in a series

Have you used NoveList? It has a number of great tools for finding books in a series, read-alikes, and performing readers' advisory.

2nd Quarter Safety Training

Safety training for the 2nd quarter has been added as required training for all MLS Employees through the Metro U LMS.  This quarter's training consists of two readings and an online course.  All trainings must be completed by Friday, June 20.

Lynda.com Available for Staff!

Planning is pleased to announce that we have purchased a limited number of user licenses for staff to utilize Lynda.com. Some of you may remember the trial subscription that was offered by Materials Selection previously. At this time, Lynda.com is not available to our customers.
