FYI - Electronic 3E Safety Data Sheets

This year, we have added a Quick Link at MyMetrolibrary (Human Resources > Safety) which provides access to the 3E  Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals inventoried throughout the system.  This process will replace the hard copy paper binders that we have used in the past.  As with our Safety Manual, all documents may be accessed online by all staff.

To begin your search, click on the Safety Data Sheet link to access the search module. You can search by product name or manufacturer name.  Under search for, enter your search criteria; click search.  All results will be displayed in the Search Results.

From the Search Results, you can view the SDS by clicking on the blue paper icon next to the product name, print the SDS, email or fax the SDS.

If, for any reason, we are unable to access a needed SDS from our computer, the 3E SDS On-Demand backup provides live support 24/7 for SDS requests which can be faxed, emailed to a designated recipient; and assistance  with chemical spills and poison exposure emergencies. Posters have been provided for each location with the emergency hotline phone number.
