OverDrive Platform Updates - October 30th, 2017

OverDrive is excited to show a preview upcoming updates to our OverDrive-powered website related to the Kindle® Book format. Working closely with Amazon, OverDrive identified opportunities to improve the discovery and borrowing experience for Kindle users.

Below is a summary of the changes scheduled to launch on Monday, October 30.

  • The Kindle Book will be the first format option presented to users on the Loans page.

Database Highlight #16: We’ve got the Historical Controversy for That

Political controversy is nothing new. This week’s database highlight, Issues & Controversies in American History, covers past historical divisions. In retrospect, some seem silly and outdated while others still cause debate today. Middle and High School students will find plenty of information, primary sources, and images to build a history report.

Goodbye Zinio

Starting today, October 23rd, the Zinio app will no longer be accessible. Members who try opening the app will receive the message “Zinio for Libraries has merged with RBdigital. To access your magazine collection, please download the new RBdigital app now by clicking here*. Note: Your username and password will remain the same.”

Below the message, members will be given the options: 

 “Update to New App,” “Remind Me Later,” and  “Don’t Ask Me Again”

We are excited to launch EduBrite, our new learning management system (LMS) today! We are kicking off this launch with our annual Discrimination and Harassment Training.
