Access Services Minutes - February 15, 2022
Welcome: Tricia called the meeting to order and asked attendees to share a win using the RFID readers.
RFID Pads (Anne, Matthew): Tricia asked for current feedback from the attendees about the RFID readers. Several locations shared their best practices using the RFID pads to keep the number of errors to a minimum. The most common method shared was to hover item(s) over the RFID pad (one to four items at a time). Anne asked for frequent communication from staff during this testing phase to help resolve problems and to share them with MK Solutions.
Safe Place (Mark): Mark shared the Safe Place implementation plan. Planning is almost complete and staff training will begin in March 2022. The training for the Safe Place Program will consist of two parts, System and Local training, to be completed by March 31st, 2022. A training video is being produced in partnership with Metro and Pivot and a Frequently Asked Questions summary is also being created for staff. This will become a core training to be revisited annually each March. The program will have ongoing reviews, FAQ updates, staff feedback, and shared success stories. The OK County Safe Place Team includes Pivot, OnCue, Oklahoma City, and MLS.
System Updates (Risa):
- Belle Isle Library Grand Opening April 8th, 2022.
- Wright Library is closing for renovations on Feb 21st, 2022, and re-opening in late May 2022.
Break Out Room Discussion: Attendees shared recent challenges for group discussion.
