Access Services Minutes - January 18, 2022
Welcome: Tricia called the meeting to order and reminded everyone that FYIs would be sent as an email instead of discussed as agenda topics. Attendees shared wins from their locations in the chat. Tricia welcomed Kesha McGee, AM2 at WA to the AM group.
Tote Check In Server: Small group discussions were held to discuss how the Tote Check In Server is going at the libraries. Some libraries are experiencing issues with items being put on hold while in Transit as they are difficult to find.
Backroom Tasks and COVID: Larger libraries experience issues where COVID exposures require the library to close main work areas for long periods of time for disinfection. We discussed strategies to mitigate this action in the future such as limit the number of people working in those areas, moving empty carts and carts that are ready to shelve to a staging area in meeting rooms.
RFID Pads: Staff and Managers are slow to adapt to the RFID pads. Feedback was shared. Tricia shared to report issues to IT and include as much of the following information as possible: time, computer number, item numbers, and any error codes that pop up. Further conversation on RFID pads will be held next month. Tricia did ask the group to use the RFID pads more in the next month and come prepared to share a win in using them.
System Updates: Risa shared the in-person programing deadline of February 1 is being pushed to March 1. CDC guidelines have updated sanitizing to 24 hours as opposed to 3 days.
Next Meeting: February 15, 2022 at 1:30pm via Zoom / Next Notetaker: Midwest City
