Pests in the Library Updates

The Pests in the Library Action Plan and Materials Checklist documents have been updated. These documents can be found on the Intranet under Departments - Public Services - Access Services - Access Services Documents or at this direct link

Updates include:

Action Document

  • “Library Furniture” was updated to reflect current MTC procedures
  • “IT Equipment” was updated to reflect current IT procedures
  • “Diatomaceous Earth” was modified to it not currently being used
  • Shared information in various places to purchase pest related material via Amazon
  • “Rules of Conduct Violation” had multiple updates:
    • Shared how to find household accounts in CARL
    • Created a template for staff on how to enter the ROCV entry in the incident reporting software
    • “Manager Actions” clarified the work from Access Manager vs Library Manager based on current local procedures
  • Updated note template to be more clear for household account vs account with primary issue
  • Updated suspension for household accounts.
  • Updated Charge/Discharge note information and removed information on @xxPest cards (See this Intranet Post for more information)

Checklist

  • Moved checkboxes for “First Offense” and “Repeat Offense” to the top
  • Changed “Further Action Required” to “Repeat Offense”
  • Clarified wording and added more space under “Household Accounts at this address”
  • Reorganized actions to break into Access Manager vs Library Manager Actions
  • Simplified the “Access Staff Next Actions” steps
  • Added PITS reporting template
  • Clarified CARL.X note templates to be more clear if it’s a household account
  • Added suspension information for household accounts if borrowing privileges are being suspended
