Database Scavenger Hunt #3 - We're Celebrating Spanish Heritage Month

Print

This month we're celebraring Spanish Heritage Month! Use library eservices or databases to answer four questions. You'll have until the end of the month to complete the questions and either email or interoffice mail the answers to Collection Development, ATTN: Sadie.

Every hunt turned in on time wins some swag! The only rule is you have to use our resources to answer the questions (no googling). You absolutely can team up with coworkers. There's more than one way to get to an answer. I'll post a key at the start of next month with the databases I used to build the hunt.

The scavenger hunt is attached. Please let me know if you have trouble opening the file. Also attached is the key for the September hunt and bonus history hunt. The most popular databases used to answer September's questions were:

Question 1 - Kanopy

Question 2 - Film Scripts Online

Question 3 - Biography Reference Center

Question 4 - Explora

Question

Hi Sadie!

I was chatting with some coworkers and none of us can figure out what Q4 means - 4. Using an Ebsco database, find any article and translate the article into Spanish.

Is there an option on Ebsco to translate an article that we're missing, or should we run it through Google Translate or something? Thanks!

translating an article

Hello!

You'll need to choose an article that's available in HTML full text. Underneath the article abstract you should see format types. PDFs can't be translated. Once you've selected the HTML full text, you'll see a translation box at the top of the article. Does this explanation make sense? Give it try!
