Hold Receipt Update

Thank you to the libraries and staff at the Service Center who interacted with hold receipts and/or tracked data during the hold receipt tracking period. Here are the takeaways based on the data submitted:

Update on Dolly Parton's Imagination Library for Oklahoma County

Since becomming and affiliate with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library just three short months ago, we have enrolled 7,800 children throughout Oklahoma County to be a part of the program and receive a book at their home, each month.

We wanted to share this annual report infograph from the Dollywood Foundation, which shows their global impact, focusing on impact in the United States. We are so proud to be a part of this program! Thank you for your support.

Overdrive app to be sunset at the end of April

The Overdrive app will be sunset by the end of April, 2023. In the weeks before the Overdrive app goes away, current in-app messaging will be updated to give users a final reminder to switch to Libby. Users who try to access Metro's digital collection in the Overdrive app after the deadline will see a message informing them they need to upgrade to Libby. The Libby app is not yet available on the Amazone Appstore. Until it is, the Overdrive app will remain available for Kindle Fire users to download and access until further notice.

Additional Information for Biometric Screenings

The Metropolitan Library System is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Total Wellness to offer FREE on-site wellness screenings for our staff in 2023! This is a new vendor that allows us to offer more clinics and more options.

Biometric screenings often indicate health issues before they become chronic thus avoiding expensive health care costs, so we encourage everyone to take advantage of this benefit!

Metro Recommends Favorite Books of 2022

Hello!   We've extended the favorite books survey to end on Sunday, January 8th in order for any Metro staff that were out on leave during the post-holiday week to participate.

Please only list titles that were published in 2022.

There's no limit on the number of titles, but please list them in order of favorite to least favorite.

All questions are optional so feel free to skip any you don't want to answer!

Metro Recommends titles for 2022

Hello!  It's that time again when we compile a list of all of Metro's favorite books of the past year! Please take a minute to fill out this survey of your favorite books published in 2022. There are spaces for Adult, YA, and Children's books and all three are optional so if you don't have a favorite in one category, you can skip it!

Mergent Intellect cancellation plus Newsbank updates

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the survey! It was not an easy decision but given the continued drop in usage and rise in cost-per-use, we decided to finalize the cancellation of Mergent Intellect. Again, we are NOT cancelling Mergent Online. Access to M. Intellect will end December 31st.
