MetroUniversity (new LMS) going live today!

Your Learning and Development team in collaboration with Information Technology are super excited to announce the soft launch of our new learning management system (LMS) – MetroUniversity or MetroU.  We say soft launch because there is more to come! Over the next several months we will be implementing additional cool features and courses.  This will allow everyone time to learn more about MetroU and get comfortable with the look and navigation.

Here is what you need to know, please read carefully.

• Please watch this introductory marketing video 24(m) 32(s) -   MetroU_Introduction.mp4

• You will be receiving a “Welcome” email from SumTotal (the platform we are using) which is a ‘do not reply’ email. It will contain your username (your MLS email address) and the default password.
• You will be required to go in immediately and change your password according to our cybersecurity password guidelines (you will have the guidelines available when you change your password).

Attached is a handout “Quick Login Guide MetroU” to supplement the video.

You will notice you have required courses that have been assigned to you!  Don’t worry ~ these micro courses will help you ‘get started’ in MetroU (more videos coming to support your learning experience). The due date on these micro-courses is December 31st, 2022. We will be launching January Compliance, 1st Qtr Safety and a few other courses in January and we want everyone to feel comfortable and be able to successfully complete these System requirements.

NOTES:

• Feel free to get in and look around while you are there and visit often!
• We are thrilled to implement two new digital features. A very basic social community - “KickOff” and gamification – Leaderboard.

Both features have micro videos to give you an overview. Part of digital learning are communities and we hope you will take an active role in MetroU.

To start off you can earn points on the Leaderboard by completing the required training before the due date.
Also, contributing content (more than a hello) to the KickOff social community. 

Both of these will be enhanced and added to in the future as we continue to grow with our new system. This is just an introduction to social communities and gamification (again more to come).

We also ask you to upload your profile photo to help create a familiar social learning environment for all. There is a micro video on how to do this as well.

We will all be learning MetroU together as we continue to build out courses, add features and tools (development plans, recommended training, more social communities, advanced leaderboards, feedback, tying courses to our core values. and more). It is going to be an exciting journey and we hope it helps bridge some of the digital learning gaps!
