School Contact Email Template

Hello from the Branch Name Library

As you may know, the Metropolitan Library System hosts a summer reading program each year in June and July.

Brand new this year, we have created a training course through Niche Academy for all teachers. Teachers who complete the short 10 minute training will be eligible to win prizes for their classrooms, including STEM kits, book bundles, and more. Please share this course link with teachers: insert appropriate link from above

To make it as easy as possible for you to promote the Summer Reading Program, we've attached a Marketing Toolkit just for educators. We have also created short videos to help advertise the program to students. It can be accessed at metrolibrary.org/summerschool (make sure to link in email). Teachers can play these in their classrooms or you can share them via your school portals or social media pages.

Please let us know any way we can help you promote reading this summer!

Best wishes,

School Mid May Follow Up Email Template - We recommend emailing to Principal and LMS after May 15th Pre-registration starts

Hello from the Branch Name Library

I hope the year is ending well. Just wanted to take a moment to let you know that pre-registration for summer reading is now live. Summer Reading is for all ages, so sign yourself up at metrolibrary.org/summerreading.

Since we were unable to do site visits this year, we want to make sure all teachers have the info and supplies they need to promote the program. If you haven't had a chance already, we would appreciate if you could email all teachers at your site about the 10 minute teacher training and the chance to win prizes for their classrooms. insert appropriate link from above .

You can also help us promote the program to your students by printing fliers and sharing videos and artwork from metrolibrary.org/summerschool (make sure to link in email) or the attached Marketing Toolkit just for educators.

Thanks for all you do and have a great summer,

Outreach Contact Script

Introduction: Hello, thank you for speaking with me today. My name is [name] and I work for Metropolitan Library System at the [library name] Library location. I’m visiting you today to invite you to participate in our Summer Reading Program.  Our Summer Reading program is free and for all ages!

Body: Customize your script by using one or two of the 1-minute sales pitch ideas:

  • Children: Do you like to impress your teacher? Can you imagine if you told your new teacher on the first day of school that you had read 20 minutes a day every day this summer?
  • Early Childhood: Sign up babies and toddlers for Summer Reading, too! We'll help you find books to read to your young ones, and literacy activities that will help them get ready to read when they're older. It's important for brain development!
  • Teens: Did you know we have an app now that lets you track your reading? It makes it super easy to earn free books and possibly other prizes like a Kindle Fire, Chromebook or an iPad?

Conclusion: Don’t forget, Summer Reading is for EVERYONE – including you! Be sure to visit us online at metrolibrary.org/summerreading to sign up and to learn more about the great online programs happening throughout the summer.  Thank you so much for your time. We look forward to having you participate in this year’s Summer Reading program.
