Prizes

  • Prize pick up will from June 1-July 31. There will be a two-week (unadvertised) grace period for prize pickup until Aug 15. 
    • Prizes will be sent to locations April-May with resupply done as requested. Supply Catalog will open June 3. 
    • Locations will be sent items in 2 stages.
      • Leftover books from last year (these may not go out to every location depending on anticipated need) - April
      • Books and Promo Item (tote bag) for FY24 - May 
    • Goal Prizes can be ordered from the Summer Reading Supply Catalog starting June 3 (Youth Books, Adult Books, Promo Items)

      • Guests can make 1 choice from the following. While we are not going to hold anyone to a certain prize based on age we are restricting them to 1 choice of the 3. No mixing and matching.
        • 1 tote bag
        • 1 adult book
        • 2 youth books (2 youth books count as prize).
    • Please read the notes section in the catalog to find order quantities, i.e. individual items vs 'box' or 'sheet'. 
    • Orders will be done twice during M-F, but if you are in immediate need please contact a member of the Logistics group or OES as we may not see the order for a few days. Please have orders in as early as possible in the week to all ow time for MTC to deliver.
    • It is the goal to have all orders for the week filled by Friday morning, but orders sent in Thursday afternoon or Friday may not be filled till the following week due to staffing and delivery schedules for the weekend. Contact the logistics team ASAP if you anticipate a weekend shortage of prizes.
    • Friends of the Library Gift stickers are NOT to be used this year as funds for book prizes came from another budget. If you do have books that were stickered last year, there is no need to remove the sticker as those items were purchased with Friends funds. You CAN use the Gift from the Library stickers. 
      • We are not taking extra donations for Read It Forward. If customers would like to donate their books, please have them pick out books from your supply and encourage them to donate them to an organization that is special to them. 

Groups 

  • If daycares and other facilities want to partcipate as a group, we are asking the librarians that work with them to track partcipants and prizes in Beanstack. Please use your on-hand supply for small groups or groups signed up as individuals not as a combined entity. If you have guests that are signed up as a large group who are going to need prizes that cannot be fufilled with your regular prize supply, please contact Teresa to discuss options. (Adult Books may not be available in bulk amounts, though logo items might be; large youth groups may need a bulk delivery for pickup at the library; etc.)

Supply Contacts

  • We will send out information to the Library Management Team and each location can decided how they will set up a supply request/notification structure. As in years past, anyone can submit orders for a location, but we will leave it up to the locations to decided how they assign those duties. Please include your staff in email requests as well so that duplicate orders are not sent. Boxes will be sent to the locations.

Logisitics SR Subcommittee 

  • This year's SR Logistics SR Subcommittee contacts are Teresa (OES) x-3892, Kevin (MC) x-3452, and Cait (SO) x-3473.
    • If you can’t reach a particular member of the the Logistics Team, then please reach out to any member of OES.
    • Please note that SR book and bag prizes are pulled from the Service Center. Supplies other than books and bags are pulled from OES at the Downtown Library. Supply orders will be boxed and routed twice a week, NOT every day. Orders recieved after Thurday morning may not get pulled until the next week. Please request supplies with these dates and possible delivery times in mind. Allow several days for routing. Plan for weekend supply needs early in the week.
    • Please do not overstock books in mass quantities as we are trying to make sure we have an accurate count of what we are using this year and what we will need going forward. We also want to ensure that everyone gets an adequate selection.
