Prizes 

Prize pickup will occur June 1-July 31, with a 2 week (unadvertised) grace period from August 1-15. Some guests may not have logged their points during June and July due to a variety of factors. Please allow guests to 'backdate' their points earned June 1-July 31 through the August 15 prize pickup window.

To backdate reading:

  1. Log into the administrative side of Beanstack
  2. Search for a person
  3. Add to log
  4. Change date in last field to July 31 (or any date in challenge scope)
  5. Confirm under "Rewards" that prize shows up as earned

DRAWINGS

This summer we will have 2 sets of drawings in August.

  • Drawing 1: 
    • Number of prizes: One per age group at every library (Total of 4 per library)
    • Prizes: 
      • ​Adults, Teens, Children: Wireless Headphones, 1 10-day pass to YMCA
      • Early Childhood: Melissa & Doug Grand Canyon National Park Hiking Gear Play Set, 1 10-day pass to YMCA
    • Qualification: Library card holder in good standing who has earned a 600 Point Badge by July 31, 2024
    • Drawing Date: Monday, August 5, 2024
  • Grand prize drawing
    • Number of prizes: One per age group system-wide
    • Prize
      • ​Adults: Apple iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil, 1 Year Household Membership to YMCA
      • Teens: Apple iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil, 1 Teen Membership to YMCA
      • Children: Apple iPad, 1 Certificate for Youth Sports Registration or Group Swim Lesson at YMCA
      • Early Childhood: Prize pack of early childhood toy sets, 1 Certificate for Youth Sports Registration or Group Swim Lesson at YMCA

Do we need to put any stickers on the prize books this year?

No, the prize books this year were not purchased with Friends or sponsor money, so they don't need gift stickers this year. If you have books from previous years that already have the stickers in place, just leave them!

 

Can volunteers participate in Summer Reading?

Yes, and please encourage them to do so! They are eligible for all prizes and drawings.

 

Can staff participate in Summer Reading?

Yes! Have fun! However, commission members and library employees and members of their households are not eligible for the drawing prizes.

 

What if readers don't have library cards listed but the account creator does?

Yes, those readers would be eligible to win a drawing. As long as the account creator has a library card in good standing, any readers that have reached 600 points listed under that account qualify.
