Anita Roesler welcomed everyone. Everybody knows everyone so no individual introductions. Anita asked for a volunteer to take minutes and Anita Sanders volunteered.

Announcements:
Rondia Banks is no longer adult programmer at Warr Acres. Kelly Dalrymple is now the Adult and Senior Services Librarian.

National Library Week:
Anita handed out posters and bookmarks for everyone to take with them.

Series Programming:
Dana Morrow stated she had discussed the idea of series programming at the recent managers’ meeting. She got the idea from librarian Anita Sanders, who is planning a music series program. Dana likes the idea and said thanks to Anita S. She said we could get postcards from Marketing that would be good for mass mail outs announcing programs, especially series programs.

Author Visits:
Anita R. wanted to know if author visits were working at the various libraries. Many more authors want to do talks and signings. They should audition. A sheet can be made with the rules and presented at a manager’s meeting. It was determined some author visits are more successful than others.

Winter ReadFest:
As of meeting date 804 have enrolled with 3 weeks left. Anita R. wants to break 1000. Southern Oaks is the leader so far with 273 enrolled. Darrie stated the library staff is great in supporting project. She said they had a goal of 300. She also said she met individually with staff members to make sure they understood how the program worked. Dana thanked Darrie for her hard work.

Dana asked that we enter our stats for the ReadFest in the meeting room manager as of 3/31/05. The type of event is “Reading Program”. This is also used for the summer reading programs. Anita R. is the contact person if needed. “Outreach” is the group.

Metro Tech classes:
Dana reported they have looked at the stats and some classes have been cancelled because they did not make. She said arrangements are between the librarians and Metro Tech. There was comment that perhaps customers prefer free classes instead of classes with a fee.
