Anita opened the meeting with introductions of new librarians. Dana spoke about the upcoming Cimarron Opera tour in October and Melody of China tour in November. Dana passed around program survey’s from the 2012, 2013 programs. She pointed out that in most cases the 24 x 36 poster is the main bearer of upcoming programs. Dana asks that the posters coming from Outreach be placed in a prominent position 2 weeks before each tour. The INFO magazine usually comes in second. Other important ways of communicating upcoming programs come from word-of-mouth - family member to family member to friend to friend.
What does Winter Readfest do for your customers? Why do we do it and what does it do for us?
As an award for our customers for being loyal. Originally started to try to acknowledge our senior citizen customers, it was originally the life time readers society. Darrie would like to see something like programming that would go along with winter readfest, programs on ereaders, databases, family history, etc. Would like the program to be more than just a prize program. This program does attract new customers. Adults always ask why everything is for kids. For the most part, everything is for babies or kids.
